CXR was established in December 2001 as a spin-out from Dundee University, Scotland and has grown into an established profitable business.

CXR's collaborative approach, laboratory capabilities and toxicological expertise have helped customers of all sizes solve issues relating to the safety of compounds or selection of drug candidates – we provide Investigative Toxicology, Exploratory & Discovery Toxicology, and Metabolism and PK/TK services and expertise on a contract research basis.  CXR operates as part of the Discovery and Pre-Clinical arm of Concept Life Sciences.

CXR employs over 35 staff recruited from both industrial and academic backgrounds, over 30% of whom have PhD's. The combination of academic excellence together with extensive industrial experience in pharmaceutical, agrochemical and chemical toxicology, metabolism and pharmacokinetics leads to a uniquely skilled investigative toxicology and preclinical development service.

To date, we have helped over 60 companies/consortia of all sizes across a broad range of different sectors including global pharmaceutical, biotech, agrochemical, consumer product, industrial chemical and fine chemical companies. These have included: BASF, Bayer, Dow Agrochemical, DuPont, Monsanto, Syngenta, ExxonMobil, AstraZeneca, Sanofi-Aventis, Pfizer, Roche, Procter & Gamble, Cancer Research Technology, Ineos Fluor, Ineos Chlor, 3M, Plastics Europe and ECPI.
