在CHO细胞上表面表达人或鼠CD47可用于用FACS筛选抗CD47抗体，作为基于细胞的测定中的靶细胞，例如ADCC或CTL。CD47参与细胞粘附到细胞外基质时发生的细胞内钙浓度的增加。编码的蛋白质也是血小板反应蛋白的C末端细胞结合结构域的受体，并且它可能在膜转运和信号转导中起作用。该基因具有广泛的组织分布，并且在Rh红细胞上的表达降低。该CD47缺陷型小鼠有缺陷的宿主防御。CD47作为巨噬细胞的抑制信号。已经发现CD47在许多不同的肿瘤细胞中过表达。它是癌症治疗的潜在治疗靶点。在癌症治疗中使用抗CD47的I期临床试验已于2018年8月接近完成。
